We've been quietly building up our portfolio - and while we are perhaps the newest buying group in the UK, we have curated the best businesses, talent and backing in the foodservice industry.

Who is Caterfood Buying Group?

This is a question that comes up from time to time, and that’s ok because we are a relatively new Group and have been flying under the radar while we establish ourselves.


The important thing that you need to know is that Caterfood Buying Group (CFBG) is different to other buying groups in the UK – we want to be different and to do things differently. By being owned by and united as one company, with one vision, all businesses are truly collaborative and work together to achieve great things for our customers. 

Our Products

Starting with our products, we not only have ambitious plans when it comes to stocking exceptional NPD – exclusive to the CFBG – we are also developing our own carefully selected, panel-tested own brand under the Caterfood Collection; offering quality at affordable prices. We are truly passionate about food, how it connects our communities and what it means to people


The Caterfood Buying Group are not just a logistics company, here to move boxes. We are first and foremost a food company, offering the best quality food and drink for our customers to help them to create the best possible food experiences.   

Where did we come from?

We are backed by Bidcorp UK, which also owns Bidfood, but we are an entirely separate business with separate teams, people, products – and vision. We are supported by an exceptional Central Team lead by foodservice industry experts.


We are here to champion local and independent producers and to work with independent customers - who want to stand out. Supportive and collaborative in nature, we care about all of our member businesses working together. 


Caterfood Buying Group is truly passionate about food and the moment of connection and/or celebration that that food represents to our end customers.  

How do you define your Members as still independently run? 

In today’s challenging economy, we ultimately believe our structure will help our Members to continue to grow and thrive, while protecting their individuality, values and customer relationships. Our group ownership structure brings support, investment and business benefits, such as knowledge sharing and larger purchasing power. Together, we can offer our customers a fantastic service, exceptional products and great prices - to help make amazing experiences. 


The best thing about offering an alternative ownership structure for independently run foodservice businesses is that we ultimately offer a gateway for founders who have built up a fantastic business and want to take that business forward to the next level - but can’t do so alone.  


It’s about working together to preserve these great companies and achieve more for our customers and their customers. Each Caterfood Buying Group Member has its own Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for the day-to-day running of their business and all local decision making.
